- Strategize approach when meeting with Singapore Beer Festival organizer
We had a meeting to come up with strategy for the meet-up with Singapore Beer Festival organizer Matt.
The objective of the meet up was also listed out to make things clearer for ourselves. To get:
- News update with regards to events
- To gain permission to talk to sponsors
- Free passes to Singapore Beer Festival
- Contact details of sponsors
- Know how they propose to sponsors
o Sponsorship packages details
§ What they give?
§ What they get?
- Recommendation
o Some sponsors that are easier for us to approach
We also listed down some of the questions that we would need to ask Matt during the meet-up.
My Reflections:
We are all very happy that we receive positive reply from the organizer regarding the surveying of sponsorship returns. We decided that we would have to have a strategy before we head for a meeting with Matt the Singapore Beer Festival organizer. We sat down as a team with our advisor to discuss on some of the objective of the meet-up and also what we want to find out from him.
This was a fruitful meeting because from my past experience, it is always better to strategize before meeting the interviewee as you would tend to be less anxious and would be able to get what you want. From experience, most of the time, we would miss out on our objective if we do an impromptu interview and therefore this meeting served us a high purpose.
The team was cautious about the meet-up and feel that there was definitely a need to meet-up to ensure that we know what we want to do when we conduct the interview. This would definitely prove to be a good strategy by itself during the interview.
